Dr. Eugene E. Muhammad was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. He attended Whitney M. Young High School on Chicago's west side and Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Morehouse, he majored in psychology, but soon discovered his love for religions studies and theology. This would later serve as the impetus for his decision to attend the Chicago Theological Seminary, where he eventually earned a Master of Divinity degree and a Ph.D. in Theology, Ethics, and the Human Sciences.
In the classroom, Professor Muhammad sees himself as a facilitator of the learning process. For him, the classroom is "a hub for meaningful learning experiences, wherein students are challenged, enlightened and invited to be more inquisitive." Professor Muhammad absolutely loves teaching and finds joy in helping students take ownership of their educational journey.
