How to use the Mitsubishi PK-20 mini-projector
1. Projector should be set about 6 feet or less from the screen.
2. Projector can be plugged into any laptop the same as any other projector using a standard HD15 male video cable plugged into your laptop's video port and to the projector's video port.
3. The SD card reader will only show .JPG or .MOV files without sound.
4. Plug in to an electrical outlet or use the removable lithium battery or use both. The battery only lasts for about an hour of projector use.
5. Press the "on/off" key in the middle of the three keys on top of projector to turn on or off.
6. To make projected image brighter, press the "Menu" key on the left of the three keys on top of projector; navigate to the furthest left menu called " "Image" by using the left arrow in the circle of arrows on top of the projector; press the "Enter" key on the right of the three keys on top of projector; navigate to the "Brightness Mode" line in the menu that appears, use the right arrow in the circle of arrows on top of the projector to change to the "High" setting (there are three possibilities of brightness: "low," "standard," and "high"); press the Menu key twice to exit the menu and save the Brightness Mode; note that there is another menu item in the third position down from the top called "Brightness" - this controls the lightness or darkness of the slide image, not the projector lamp brightness.
7. To be able to project an automatic slide show, press the "Menu" key on the left of the three keys on top of the projector, navigate to the second menu from the left called "Installation" by using the left or right arrows in the circle of arrows on top of the projector, press the "Enter" key on the right of the three keys on top of projector; navigate to the "Slide Show" menu by using the down arrow in the circle of arrows on top of the projector, press the "Enter" key on the right of the three keys on top of projector, navigate to the "Interval Time" menu item, and use the right arrow to change the time that each slide will show - 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 3 minutes; then optionally navigate to the "Transition Effect" menu item, and use the right arrow to change the slide transition type - none, wipe left, wipe right, blind, box, dissolve, etc. (the slide transitions will all be the same); if you want a repeating slide show, navigate to the "Repeat Setting" menu item and use the right arrow key to turn it on or off; press the Menu key twice to exit the menu.
8. If you want to change slides yourself, set the "Auto Start" under the "Slide Show" menu to "Off," so when you plug in your SD card, a slide file list will appear on the screen; navigate to the first slide using the arrow keys and press the "Enter" key; the slide will appear; to change to the next slide, press the right arrow key; to go back to a previous slide, press the left arrow key. Note that the "Interval Time," "Transition Effect," and "Repeat Setting" will not have any effect when "Auto Start" is turned off..
9. The remote keypad will work easier than the keys on the projector itself, but because it uses an infrared connection, not Bluetooth, you will need a line of sight between the remote and the back of the projector, more's the pity.
10. Movies (*.MOV files only) will not be able to play sound.
11. An SD card cannot be used to project Power Point shows. To show a Power Point, connect the projector to a laptop or desk top computer, or convert the Power Point show to individual JPG slides. In order to get the slides to project in their proper order, you will need to rename them after conversion to 1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc.
