Use the editor Kate to record your answers.  You can capture the commands you use and paste them in Kate.

1.         What is a Linux distribution? List three major Linux distributions.

2.         Create a directory called CIS177. Change to the directory you created. What command did you use?

3.         Change to the CIS177 directory. Create two other directories for two chapters in CIS177. Call them chapter1 and chapter2.

4.         Create a file and save it in chapter1 subdirectory. Use the command touch notes1.

5.         Copy the file notes1 to notes2.

6.         Change to the parent directory of chapter1. Delete the file you created in chapter1 directory. What happened?

7.         List the files that are in the CIS177 directory. What command did you use?

8.         If you want information on a subject or command where would you consult?

music/rap/composer to music/rap/artist. What command did you use?
