Our program offers students an opportunity to acquire specific skills in the diverse industry of Visual Communication. The associate's degree program provides background in basic layout, design, typography, illustration and production design techniques for print, Web, and multimedia. Computer skills are developed as a design, communication and production tool using software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark XPress, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Dreamweaver and others to meet the needs of the industry. Selected as one of the top fifty growing occupations, qualified individuals may find employment in advertising agencies, art departments, printing and media studios. Typical job titles include: graphic designer, graphic artist, publishing designer, Web page artist, commercial artist, illustrator, photographic manipulation artist and communication specialist.
