A rectangular piece of solid unknown metal with dimensions length (1.97 in.) x width (0.80 in). x height (0.75 in.) is placed into a large graduated cylinder (mass of the cylinder = 156.3 g) containing an unknown liquid (given this liquid does not react with metal). The final volume of the liquid with the piece of metal is 75.0 mL.

The mass of the liquid taken in the cylinder is equal to the mass of 65.0 mL of a different liquid with a density of 0.955 g/mL. The mass of the solid, liquid, and graduated cylinder is 428.6 g.
Determine the densities of
(a) the unknown solid metal and (b) the unknown liquid.

Hint: Draw a conceptual diagram of the cylinder using given data. Please pay attention
to distinction between an unknown liquid and a different liquid with known density.
