Where to get Computer Help and Login Information into WebCt. ?

The Educational Technology Resource Center (ETRC) supports the college curriculum and encourages effective learning by distributing and processing material to support all distance learning education. The ETRC staff provides learning materials and curriculum in a variety of formats including video, audio, interactive laser disk, DVD and computer assisted programs. These services enhance or supplement Online/WebCT and telecourses. The center provides computer-based educational services to all current Triton College students, faculty & staff. ETRC is Triton's primary computer lab, with current technology and software. In addition the center provides make-up tests, proctored tests from other colleges or universities, constitution test, and reserved materials. The ETRC also offers non credit Community Education courses for Microsoft applications and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) examinations. Please contact us for additional information.

Hours of Operation

The ETRC is open, seven days a week, over 90 hours per week, during the Fall and Spring semesters, including Saturday and Sunday. Current semester Triton College photo ID are required for access to ETRC. A current semester Triton Photo I.D. and a current semester schedule are required to take a telecourse test or watch a video.

ETRC Distance Learning Services

Telecourses

Telecourses combine independent study lessons and media presentations with textbook assignments, in place of classroom instruction. Telecourse presentations may be on

videocassette, audiocassette CD-ROM, or broadcast on cable TV. All formats combine independent study with a limited number of on-campus sessions for students.

Online /WebCT Courses

The ETRC is the main student contact for all Online/ WebCT and Illinois Virtual Campus courses. Student support services include orientations, online tutorials, tutoring, email, telephone, walk-in and online HELP form. The Triton Virtual Campus is the website for online courses information www.triton.edu/online.

Testing Center

Make-up Tests

Instructors may leave tests for students (for group or entire class testing please make reservations with Jean Dugo jdugo1@triton.edu Ext. 3953) who are unable to take a test during regular class time. The instructor provides information on how to administer the test, time allowed, any aid (note, open book) and any special instructional needs. Test administration forms are available online at www.triton.edu/etrc Select Faculty Services and scroll to the bottom of the screen.

Proctored Tests

The ETRC proctors all test from other college or universities on request of students, faculty, other colleges, and universities.

Constitution Test

The ETRC administers the Illinois and United States constitution test for students who need to fill a graduation or GED requirement.

Miscellaneous

Reserved Materials

Instructors provide video, audio and/or CD-ROMs for students to view at their own convenience.

Small Audio Visual Equipment

Faculty and staff may check out portable tape recorders and digital cameras. Please provide a current Triton College staff ID when requesting equipment.

Bay Reservations

Faculty members may reserve a computer bay in the open lab by submitting their requests to Jean Dugo at jdugo1@triton.edu or Ext. 3953. Please include your name and contact information, course number, software needed for class, date of request, start and end time of class and number of students Please make reservations early, as availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Software Requests
Faculty can also request installation of special textbook companion software or supplemental course-related software. However, please allow ample lead-time for our technical staff to complete the installation process before you come in.
