Course Information

Welcome!

You have registered for Art Through the Ages, a humanities class. Your institution may have a different title for this class, but this is the place!

This is an unusual class in that the work was submitted by over 20 professors from across the state of Illinois under a grant from ILCCO (Illinois Community College Organization) with expertise in many areas.

However the class is being taught by one professor - Dr. Allen Salzman. Once you are enrolled and enter the actual class, you can "meet" him and even hear him by going from the HOMEPAGE to Course Tools to Module Information & Slide Show to Info., and then clicking the button called Meet Your Professor. Be sure to check out his extensive credentials by clicking biography on the professor page.

You have the freedom to tailor your education to your individual interests. You can sample the different modules by visiting the "slide show." Go to HOMEPAGE--Course Tools--Module Information & Slide Show once you are registered and can enter the course. There are 12 modules to choose from in Humanities 104. You must complete a total of 8 two-week modules for a 16 week course.

The button that looks like this  will take you back to the home page where you will find an link to the 12 icons representing your modules. Click on "Module Selection" to see these icons. There are numerous places set up throughout the course to email your professor. Don't hesitate to keep in touch since an online class may be a new experience for you.

  • You may have quite a few questions about the course requirements, equipment and WebCt, which is the program used for this course. Contact your institution's online support if you need assistance. There is also a more elaborate and detailed version of this welcome page available once you obtain access to the course.
  • Good Luck to you!
