Building Information Modeling Management

Principles of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for production of bidding and construction documents for architectural and interior design projects.

Course Outline:

The student will be able to:

            Learn how a typical architectural or interior design firm is managed

Understand national formatting standards for specifications and drawings

Create specifications

Create a Project Manual

Understand how BIM management principles are important in management of architectural and interior design firms

            Set up a mock network

            Load programs onto computers in network environment

            Set up and use Microsoft NetMeeting software

Understand how to use an Application Service Provider (ASP) in an office environment

Use information learned to analyze a real office environment and understand how Building Information Modeling needs can be managed within it

Apply concepts to a variety of office structures
