WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?
I have spent the last fifteen years working with Triton College students who are interested in transfer to senior institutions.  During that time, I have had the opportunity to accumulate tons of information about schools, courses, majors, and students.  Let me use my experience & knowledge to help make your transfer experience as smooth as possible.

Consider these questions that I'm asked almost daily:

What school shall I transfer to?

Answer:  Would you ask someone to recommend whom you should marry?  Probably not.  And so it is with deciding  what school is best for you.  Schools, like individuals, have personalities.  For best fit, your personality must match the personality of the school you choose.  A school that might be ideal for your best friend or sister, may be a huge mistake for you.  Think about your sister's boyfriend.  Would you date him?  Enough said.

So how do I know what school will fit?

Answer:  Choose your school by spending quality time on its campus and with faculty and students who are interested in your major.  Choose it by where you feel you can succeed and yet be challenged to do your best.  Choose it by where you feel at home.  Consider what financial sacrifices you must make as well as what financial contributions the school you want to attend is willing to offer you.  Choose it by reputation only if it also meets your personal test for a comfortable fit.  After all, you could marry the most beautiful man/woman in the world only to find that you have nothing to say to each other.  And so it is with choosing the school you plan to attend.

Remember: the above takes time!  Please develop a plan of action and a long-term goal for your education as soon as you decide to get your start here at Triton.  It's never too early.  On the other hand, if you've been around here for a while, you have no time to loose, so come in to see me or anyone of the other professional staff at the Transfer Center as soon as possible!

Only YOU can ultimately choose!  Do so wisely.
