Licensing Process in Illinois

• Contact the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation to apply for admission to the Architectural Registration Examination (A.R.E.)

• Pay for the A.R.E.(about $1,000.00 total for all 9 divisions)

• Pass all 9 divisions of the A.R.E.

• Apply for and receive your license to practice in Illinois
