Week
Three Agenda: Orthographic Projection/Drawing Plans
Return
to Classroom
Overview
Agenda for Week Three
Overview
This
week's lesson is going to cover a basic and essential drawing technique
for Architects and Interior Designers - Orthographic Projection.
The floor plan is usually the first thing developed by the designer.
As they work through the floor plan the designer begins to visualize
the 3D image of the building. When the floor plan is complete the
elevations are generated using a technique known as Orthographic
Projection. Orthographic refers to straight lines that are projected
from the plan and used to locate the walls and openings from the
plan.
The other skills
that we are going to work on this week involve drawing floor plans
and then dimensioning them. The one plan that we drew last week
didn't have any doors and windows so this week we will talk about
how to represent doors and windows in floor plans.
