COURSE POLICIES OF THE ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN DEPARTMENT

1. You are required to attend all classes. There are no excused absences. Listening, observing, and interacting with other students and faculty is a vital part of your education. Students who miss a class will receive an "X" for that day which must be removed by doing an "Extra Project."

2. If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to find out from a fellow student what was presented, and what is due for the next class. Your instructor will not make a special packet of information for you. In addition, you are expected to be prepared for the next class. You must complete all assignments so that you will not fall behind.

3. Being late to class or leaving early will result in 1/3 of an "X" for every 20 minutes of class you miss, which must be removed by doing an "Extra Project." If you are tardy, it is your responsibility to tell the Instructor that you have arrived in class; otherwise, you will be marked absent for the day.

4. Students with a 4 or more "Xs" on their record at the end of the semester will be given a final grade of "F" for the class. In other words, students may only have three unresolved "Xs" on their record. All other "Xs" must be removed by doing "Extra Projects" in an acceptable way, or you will fail the class.

5. There are no "Incomplete" grades given in these professional programs.

Extra Projects

An "X" may be removed by doing one of the following "Extra Projects” turned in no later than the last day of class. Extra projects may be "banked" to be used to eliminate an "X" which might be accumulated in the future. An "Extra Project" can be done at any time for extra credit or to make up for a low grade on a project. The extra project must be the student's own original work. An extra project may be used for one course only.
